Under the artist name "Mono illo" I craft intricate black & white illustrations of imaginary worlds inspired by our own nature, often exploring the space between familiar and fantastical. I'm inspired by folklore, dreams and the hidden magic of everyday life
Her creative journey began as soon as she could hold a pen and paint brush, she used her love of the natural world to influence her art growing up.
She studied art and design into higher education where she honed her visual storytelling skills, explored the power of composition and communication, and learned the importance of curiosity to discover the unexpected. These studies gave her the tools to bring her imagined worlds to life and to share them in ways that connect with others.
In addition to her illustrations, she has explored a range of other mediums including printmaking, painting and ceramic sculpture, to push the boundaries of her visual storytelling. These experiments have allowed her imagined worlds to evolve in unexpected ways, adding texture, movement, and depth to her practice.
Through her art she invites you to get lost in a world that’s hidden within our own.
